2 fantastic days at Swami Nursing Home centre!

My 2 days at Swami home was so suprisingly fun even though i encountered numerous mishaps. Ok here's wad happened during the first day.
1. My stockings ran...and i would have taken it off discreetly if i wasn't in front of the public. Damn. Anyway survived my ride on the bus n train with ppl looking at me as if i was a one hell stingy bitch who couldn't get herself a decent pair of stockings.
2. I missed my stop while listening to my blaring music. I was supposed to have dropped off at Sembawang but noooo i had get off at a stop dat was 3 stops away from my destination. So i totally wasted my precious time to go to and fro the "extra mileS". Ha ha not money though cus i was still got out at the right stop within the time limit.
3. I got late in meeting Jesvin n Nisa. Luckily, they were not eager to bite my neck off.
4.Went to meet the nursing manager who was so taken aback to meet us. She was like,"I din noe we had students attached to us." i was like"OMG...wad da..." to myself lar. Anyway, she gave us a tour of the elderly residential area and assigned us. Nisa got the 1 with 70+ patients, Jesvin got the Dementia patients and i got the one with 100++ patients. Ha ha, jus imagine us running around frantically like headless chickens.
5. A lady comes and tell me that i'm in da wrong department. The first thought that ran to my head was"Ekkks, i really came at the wrong date...omg...omg" Cus earlier on, some of my frens were speculating that they din see my ID attached to Swami Home. However, sorry to disappoint you guys...I was at the right home except i was supposed to be in home nursing that was in the other side of the building. *Cripes* So near, yet so far.
6. Met the staff nurse who was incharge of me. She's a really nice lady who's really passionate about what she does. Hats up to her...made her one of my role model. He He...dat's why i enjoyed my day so much...of course not forgetting my partners in crime Jesvin and Nisa.
Uh huh, and here's what happened today......
1.Today suppose to meet up at 0800 but also ended up late...no valid reason though. However, my phone had to have some crappy reception problems. I tried to contact Jesvin and Nisa but in vain...made me feel like smashing my bloody phone! But i couldn't bring myself to do it...well can anyone. Anyway,i left da station at 0815 after waiting like an idiot for no one.
2. Uncertainly, took a bus no.167. When i asked the driver whether it goes to 5 Sembawang walk...a guy behind me intervenes and said "you mean to go to the home which is opp da shopping centre. That's wher i'm going". Ohhhh...helping a damsel in distress...i was a meanie though. i retorted back."i noe where it is, jus checking whether this bus goes there or not."Ouch. Anyway when i dropped off with him, i smiled n thanked him to make up for my rude behaviour earlier on. However when i alighted at the bus stop, i ran off in da wrong direction in my haste and had to turn back and run in da right direction looking absolutely like a diorientated chick.
3. Went to home nursing department where the Staff Nurse and i prepared for our Nursing Trip to the patients house. Mostly it was routine check-ups like BP and blood sugar monitoring and etc. So sad that one of the patient passed away after we left their house.
4. Back at the department office, the staff was celebrating one of the guy's birthday. Actually i NOTED him yesterday...he's pretty cute (Tall stature, average built, a cross btw looks of eurasian and hindi) . So i was pretty shocked when someone mentioned that he's actually a nepalese. He mirrored my expression as well...and ha ha he tried to speak to me in nepalese. He was like, "Timro ama baba pani yahi ach?" (Your parents are also here?) I answered, "Ao cha." (Yes they are) In english, i indignantly shot out, "Hey, you trying to check whether i can speak nepalese or not!"(I seem to have something against guys today) That garnered peals of laughter from some of the staff n he seemed embarassed enough not to converse with me anymore. Gee i din noe i was that offensive. Like i care....

I really love my Geron ward cos the staff are really incredible. Had this CIC (first time doing, only did catherisation once b4) yesterday...n you noe wad i couldn't see the urethra at all so i ended up it into the wrong hole. i was like "OMG" but luckily my fren, Nisa, was there to help me. Thanks gal! N today,i had to get assessed by my lecturer on the same patient. i was nervewrecked but it soon dissipated when i found out my that the lecturer was there to REALLY help me instead of just pin pointing out my faults. She guided me superbly n i really learnt a lot from that experience. I guess it paid off cos she told me i did pretty ok. Well, i managed to find the right hole nah! ha ha!
